Fund Raising

DMI offers a full range of fund raising services to help clients improve their annual budget, to fund new construction or to enhance an organization’s existing endowment. These services include:

  • Capital/Endowment Campaigns
  • Major Gift Donor Club Programs
  • Annual Giving Programs
  • Planned Giving Programs

Generally these services are preceded by an Internal Assessment or an External Assessment/Feasibility Study.

The Internal Assessment is comprehensive in scope and addresses all aspects of a client’s giving programs from how donor records are kept to the relevance of staff and board job descriptions.

The External Assessment/Feasibility Study evaluates the organization’s potential for a capital campaign from the point of view of community leaders and prospective donors.

The DMI Engagement Team is usually retained for a period of six months or more after the completion of either assessment service.  The Engagement Team augments the client’s existing staff in implementing a fund raising program.  The Engagement Team is led by the firm’s Founder/Principal, James A. Donovan, a twenty-six year career veteran in philanthropy, author of two best selling books and consultant to over 100 clients.  The Engagement Team consists of specialists with expertise in communications, donor club programs, capital campaign management, planned giving and training of board and staff.
